I have always believed that taste is supremely important for a designer. My end vision is always initiated as a result of the taste I possess. Personally, I evolve my taste by consuming much better inspiration than I can design personally. This results in several things
Humbling down as a designer - the most important aspect.
Observing details at a micro level.
Engaging in experimentation for a few days.
Whenever my brain cells have felt dry and I am unable to think in the fashion I desire, that's when I explore beautifully crafted products that are built with an evolved sense of taste.
The evolution and growth of a designer's taste lead to taking brave decisions on the visual front of the design. However, most of the time, these decisions do not align well with others involved.
Unfortunately, this innate bravery of designers is often underappreciated due to the constraints imposed by code. We are bound by code written by someone else, code that we may not be able to write ourselves, although we should.
Now with No-Code
Post the framer launch, now when I check out some of the websites that are designed & crafted (not developed) by designers. Oh my my, so good. It somehow clearly portrays the evolution of taste & the bravery we possess.
Well, no offense to the engineers, they have their own constraints.
What am I excited about?
OOO, here comes the interesting part.
If, I repeat. If we have the power to ship end-to-end products, these are going to be the bravest product decisions no one can ever think of. Because, as designers we are trained to have a vision\\\ Imagination, if you would like to call it that.
If you look at some products that are really design-first at heart, you will notice the number of brave decisions they have made.
I think No-Code is the technology I am really excited about because it gives me the power to ship. With No-code you might even see a lot many designers in the business space starting their entrepreneurial journey.
