Confidence while designing..
Recently, I was designing a flow I had no intuition about. Everything felt unsure because I didn’t know if I was going in the right direction.
Every time I feel underconfident in the flows I design, it’s a lagging indicator of how little research I’ve done. Maybe I don’t know how competitors have solved similar flows, how leading products approach it, or what users want. Most of the time, it’s just not having enough context about the problem.
Confidence in design is directly tied to how well you know the users and how deeply you’ve studied competitors solving the same problem.
